Should we take Drogba back?

Should we take Drogba back?
Word Spread this week that Chinese Super Club Shanghai Shenhua was facing financial difficulties and would have to make pay cuts. One man that would perhaps have to be offloaded from the club is Dider Drogba. The 34 year old is on enourmus wages which Shanghai seem like they are not capable to pay leaving the door open for Drogba to return to Europe. Since this news broke Drogba has attracted interest from some top clubs in Europe including Juventus and Liverpool but Drogba turned down these offers. But this situation raises the question should we bring Didier back to Chelsea?
Didier is a Chelsea Legend and would be welcomed by most fans if he were to return. But is this a good move for a club that is looking to play a new brand of football?

Why Fuss Over A Squad Number?

A few days ago, the Chelsea FC megastore 'announced' Oscar's squad number as #11, when they put the kit on sale. Although you won't find any evidence of this supposed gaffe on the website anymore, the news spread like wildfire & also sparked a bit of a debate on Twitter. Many argued that Oscar had done nothing to earn the #11 & shouldn't be given the number, while others shrugged off the story, saying that it's just a number. Some even called for the #11 to be retired in honour of Drogba.

Why Torres will never be able to emulate Drogba

Fernando Torres has been quoted as saying that he hopes that one day he will be remembered by Chelsea fans, the same way that Drogba will be remembered. This upcoming is no doubt a huge one for Torres, with the opportunity he now has to lead the Chelsea line, with the acquisitions being made this summer being made to accommodate the way Torres likes to play. The first season and a half of Torres' Chelsea career haven't been smooth running. Being played out of position, having to adjust to a 'Drogba system', competition from the Drog himself and broken promises by AVB. But now, none of these excuses can be stated for Torres next year. There's no Drogba, we will no doubt play football that feeds to Torres' strengths, with balls being played behind the defence. This is what made Torres so successful at Liverpool and Atletico Madrid. At Liverpool, Torres had the luxury of two world class midfielders in Gerrard and Alonso, who would always look to play the ball into Torres' feet, or behind the defence. He is yet to have that at Chelsea. Forced to play as a target man, dropping deep, going out wide to collect the ball, Torres has really had to graft for Chelsea, as there didn't seem to be many people willing to help him in the team.

The New Era At SW6 and Who All Will Be A Part Of It?

We went down at times, we were written off mostly, we were told this is the worst time at the Bridge and some labelled the Club and its players as fallen heroes and warriors. And against all odds we conquered Europe with our motivation and never say die attitude. The beauty was in grinding out results out of nowhere. Yes people and the media did critisice but despite this intense scrutiny we got a DOUBLE from a team which was called old and had nothing much left in it. This was because of some huge characters and one man to whom the credit has to be given that is RDM.

Not Everyone Can Do A Chelsea!

"England attempted to do a Chelsea"
If you have been surfing through the web, exploring football news (especially about Euro 2012) you would have probably come across phrases like “doing a Chelsea”, “pulling a Chelsea” or even “trying a Chelsea”. If a team tried their best not to concede goals, then they are being accused of “doing a Chelsea”. Well, if doing a Chelsea means fighting till the end, against all the odds, commitment, courage then its fine by me. But let me remind you one thing. Not everyone can do a Chelsea.

Why Roberto Di Matteo Is The Next Pep Guardiola?

The next Guardiola in the making.....
Irrespective of what happens in RDM's tenure over the next two years, RDM will go down in our history books as one of our most successful managers. And that is simply because he was the first Chelsea manager ever to win the Champions League. The fact that he is a Chelsea legend as a player makes it all the more special. So how does RDM qualify as the next Pep Guardoila ?What I write henceforth is just a hypothesis, it may be proved wrong but it has more chances of being correct than wrong.

Didier Drogba: Tribute to a Living Legend

Chelsea's 4th highest goal scorer of all time. The man who's scored more goals for Chelsea than any other foreign player. Highest all-time goal scorer for Côte d'Ivoire. Champions League hero. These are some words that can be used to describe Didier Yves Drogba Tébily. None of these words will ever come close to describing how much we love him.
