Azpilicueta confirms move to Chelsea very close
Chelsea have been expected to wrap up a deal for Marseille Right Back Cesar Azpilicueta for a long time now. He has been linked with Chelsea from the very start of the transfer market and was widely expected to join the European Champions after the Olympics.

Many French sources have made it pretty clear that Chelsea are on the verge of securing the 22-year old's signature. However recently Azpilicueta came out and made some comments in the press which makes things pretty clear that Chelsea are going to sign him up very soon. This is what he admitted to Le Provence,

"Everyone thinks it's been a tough time for me with my thoughts spilt between Marseille and Chelsea. If my departure can help Marseille's finances, then it is a good deal for everyone concerned. I thank the club's fans for their standing ovation," Azpilicueta added. "They have always been good to me to me, even when things haven't gone well."
So, it seems likely that we can expect an official confirmation anytime from now. Stay tuned to ChelseaFC360 for the latest as it happens.

  1. We can win the EPL if we stop conceding goals. Our Defense is strong this season but we still lack in our defensive midfield..... Mikel is too inconsistent, he just looses the ball too often. RDM should give Oriol romeu or Essien a chance. We need some1 with strength and stamina there and Mikel has neither. Mikel is a waste of a player on pitch, he cant score, cant defend, his passing sometimes is too risky. In my opinion Luiz must be given chance to play in this position once Cesar Azpilicueta deal is finalized, that way we can play Ivanovic and terry as CB and David Luiz in place of Mikel. David luiz has got everything to be a Defensive midfielder he is strong and his long through pass are just amazing, But then again its my opinion.

  2. Would Mikel ever play well if he is continually been informed about such feedback for his performances. Does Mikel cover more of his Defensive Midfield duties than Fernando does on his striking duties. Is Mikel the only player who would help Chelsea hold the ball all the time. Is Mikel responsible for Chelsea not playing tiki taka. Is Mikel the only player that must make tackles. Is Mikel the one to be providing Torres with assists. Must mikel score goals. Must Mikel be very fast. This topic is boring.

  4. Babur you damn right, mikel is too slow and lazy, likes ridiculous passes, i think its 'bout tym we started using essien and romeu or switch luiz to replace inconsistent mikel.

  5. Babur yu are absoltly right LUIZ should step in for Mikel now but my question remains on Lampard his speed has declined we need someone who is fast like Oscar on his position for Torres meaning Marin shld get a space in line up.

  6. I always get sick whenever u pple criticise Mikel. Luiz to b used in place of Mikel would b awaitin disaster. Romeu not yet develop n Essien is out of his peak. Mereiles is a shit in dat position. The only option is Mikel so, stop crucifying him.
