The Belgian, who joined Chelsea in January 2012, has revealed that he is excited about the loan deal.
"The move is perfect for me because Bremen has a great tradition and I'll be playing in full stadiums in one of the best leagues in Europe," he said. (source: Goal.com)
De Bruyne has yet to play a competitive match for Chelsea, as he spent the rest of the 2011/12 season on loan to Genk & has only played for Chelsea during pre-season this year.
There is no doubting the fact that the loan move will be a good one for both him & the club. I don't see him getting too many chances of playing in the first team this season, despite his quality & versatility. The Chelsea squad is full to the brim with options in midfield, & it's hard to imagine De Bruyne displacing players like Hazard, Mata, Marin or even Oscar for that matter. The loan move will ensure that he gets regular first-team football that will help him grow as a player.
