Is Torres' Time at Chelsea Over? |
However some Chelsea fans have hurled hate at Fernando, I'll give you these Twitter examples :
"F*** off Torres, you Scouse cunt"
or
"30m plus our useless Spaniard for Falcao"
or
"Nando, get the f*** outta The Bridge"
This is no way to treat a player. I would never say something like that about a player unless he's a rival player and even then, I probably wouldn't. However, we have stuck with Torres for his whole time at Chelsea and I'm sure he appreciates that.
However, with his recent storming off and fans hurling hate at him, I ask you is Torres' time up at Chelsea?
I say no. Torres is a dangerous man and when confident he will produce. If you think he's the only player who does this, you're wrong. Look at Defoe, Van Persie, Rooney, Aguero. They don't score at will every match. They do when motivated and full on confidence. Certain players like Falcao, Messi and Ronaldo have certainly experienced a plethora of goals every season and nearly every match, but they too, feed off of confidence. Every player needs confidence to perform better. Torres might be aging, slowly, but surely he is returning to form. I would never consider selling him, but he must also know that not even revolves around him. We must continue to support Torres and show that he is our #9. Anyone who hates on Torres, I ask you to show him this article or steer him/her the right way!
Do you think Torres' time is over? I don't. I'd love to hear what you to say!

of course he can ! even King Didier himself said that there is no one else more worthy than El Nino to replace him... so we should only judge Torres when he leaves the club ! he has so much time to prove even more. King Didier too came in to Chelsea when he was 27. KTBFFH
ReplyDeleteDo you know why Essien is gone, "Performance!". No one is saying he was not good before, but now? Torres only has much grace before he becomes disposable, he should thank his God that the club has given him more room compared to expensive AVB. Its not that I don't like him, but he must up his performance for his own good. There are other good strikers who would like to play for Chelsea, and Chelsea may arguably be the only top 3 team in England that Torres can get enough game time to save his carrier for now.
ReplyDeleteI don't understand the negative critizism Torres got after the QPR game. If people would just go watch a replay of that match please. Every player performs with momentum in a game and like you said confidence plays a big part in a performance. I know that first hand because I play football too. How many chances did Torres have? He had that one where he dribbled the defence, cut back in and took a shot on his weaker left foot. The second one came where he dribbled past one defender but an unfortunate touch lead to Anton Ferdinand getting the ball off him. That's a half chance so he actually had one clear chance. Now tell me,how in the beautiful game's name can you build match momentum with a lack of proper service? We played with one attacking midfielder for most of the game,Hazard and because of that and lack of attacking options,we lacked penetration into the final third. Clear chances can only happen when you press and pressurise your opponent constantly-resulting in your striker getting more opportunities.
ReplyDeleteI totally agree with you.. Torres is the best option for Chelsea to replace Drogba. Falcao can score plenty of goals in Spanish league but we don't know how he would score in Premier league, Torres has experience in Premier league but he only needs confidence and chances.. You are the best, Torres <3
DeleteIt does not follow at all. A talented striker in shape scores anywhere anytime e.g Falcao in Porto, Ath Madrid, Colombia. Fernando when he was in shape scored for fun at Ath Madrid, Liverpool, spain. But now you and I know Torres is now inconsistent and painfully, unreliable. Winning the Golden boot at the Euros is deceptive because Torres was given less game time so as not to score more goals nor win golden boots. That is how bad he was suppose to be.
DeleteWho leads the pressurising in the team?
ReplyDeleteHow do you expect a Striker with no service at all to perform?? E.g he had only one chance in the QPR game, which he made himself! a striker is fed chances, not creating them on his own
ReplyDeletec'mon guys, he needs us now.dont back off now guys.have we put our trust in him to later back off?he needs to be loved not hated.who knows?we might be d ones to save his career.

ReplyDeletewhat happened to 'chelsea fans are d best in the world'?he is a very emotional guy,he doesn't need comments like these, especially if its b'cos of a columbian.i'm torres, what of you?
ReplyDeletetorres is here now we cant change that, as much as i like him he must prove him self.im sick of hearing "we didnt give him passes" cos hes been with us for a while and should be in a swing of things by now. this season he will score 20 goals im sure...but we also wont him to score in semis and finals and if he doesnt then im afraid that Mr AB. will not tollerate misses and weak mentality. i like him, really do, but he cant be snaping at dimatteo thus creating more media blunders. hes walking on egg schells.
ReplyDeleteYou don't have to be Drogba to lead and inspire the attack. Even small Messi is the best at leading the attack.
ReplyDeleteWell the only and real torres problem is the style of play.Read this article here:
ReplyDeletehttp://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-2204688/Fernando-Torres-summer-target-Liverpool-reunion.html?ITO=1490
In article you find at liverpool torres scored total of 81 goals with 56 of them resulting from a defence-splitting pass. Now how much he has at chelsea? So its all about style of play. Brazillian No# 10 is at our bench yet why? we have to work strongly at our passing style and speed, only then we can have torres scoring. Otherwise let him go somewhere else to have his style matching midfield and get some other good striker. But really don't blame El NINO for this.
thanks. . . .
honestly, he never had time in chelsea let alone for his time to be over. for over a season and a half how many goals does our beloveth highly rated torres have to boast wid.... pls play sturage and let pass glory die wit the past.
ReplyDeleteI have 2 theories.
ReplyDelete1.he is bubbling with confidence and he felt that the players in the QPHahahahha! game did not feed him well.
2.he badly needed to take a leak.
i love the heading... is torres time over??? i wonder when it started...
ReplyDeleteanyhow, chelsea have supported him all the way till now. still chelsea have shown confidence in him by not buying another striker, so as torres can lead the line. so i think this is the last opportunity for him. he has time until January to show what he is made of. after that i think it will be his time then if he fails to shine.
I still believe in him and I support him.
ReplyDeleteYou and all the other blinkered mugs. There's such a thing as blind faith.
DeleteHe's had long enough, it's blindingly obvious that he's never going to become a regular goalscorer for Chelsea.
ReplyDeleteIf the average working man did his job as badly as Torres has for Chelsea he'd be sacked within three months, not given more and more time.
He looks like he doesn't want to be at Chelsea, his body language is awful and he even moaned straight after our Champions League win. "Why wasn't I in the starting line up? I didn't get to take a penalty!"
I'll tell you why, Fernando, because it was the most important game in our history and you can't be relied on when it really matters, can you?
