Valencia working with Barcelona to sign Romeu |
El Mundo Deportivo says Romeu has now been linked with a move away from west London, with Valencia sending scouts to watch him during Spain's U-21 international against Croatia. There is a clause in Romeu's contract which allows Barcelona to buy back the midfielder for a fee of £12million. Barca could be willing to co-operate with their La Liga rivals to help bring Romeu back to Spain.
Personally I think that anything is possible in the world of football. Chelsea have recently loaned out Essien and sold Meireles so we definitely would not be into the market for selling a bright young prospect at Romeu. Romeu proved alot last season when given a chance to impress under AVB and instantly showed all the Stamford Bridge fans what he is capable of and what a young star he was.
Personally I dont think this move would be in any way would be appreciated by Chelsea. Romeu is happy at Chelsea and would get games to play in this season as well specially after our current departures.
Barcelona have that buy back clause of around £12million for this summer and after that its all over so basically we just have to make sure that Romeu remains happy and content at the club and keep Barca off him until after this coming summer. And even from Barcelona's point of view I don't think that they would wat him because they recently bought Alex Song and already have a hand full of players available for that position.
So lets wait and see what unfolds soon but until then KTBFFH!
It's crucial that we keep Romeu; if we let him leave our only DM is Mikel, and that is a truly horrible prospect. Also Romeu, McEachran, Oscar and Charly Musonda make for a really young, exciting midfield that can be Chelsea's for 15 or 20 years. And Romeu is the only truly defensive midfielder of the bunch. Chelsea will continue to buy players but we must keep Oriol Romeu. Guys like Saville, Clifford and the other Musondas are decent prospects but probably won't make much impact on the 1st team. Please Chelsea, don't let Romeu go.
