Such a massive boost |
The victory sees the Blues maintain their unbeatable run and stays at the top of the Premier League table with five wins and a draw from their first six games.
Arsenal won 3-5 over Chelsea last season at Stamford Bridge in a sensational match, While a 0-0 draw in the return leg at the Emirates Stadium meant it was the first season the Blues had failed to win against the Gunners since 2007. Besides last time Chelsea won on the Emirates Stadium was in 2009, So it not just a win its about revenge.... derby revenge.
This season Chelsea failed to snatch a big win over big teams like Manchester City & Juventus but the Blues just did it today to grab 3 points from Arsenal, Thus one could argue that the Arsenal game was the biggest test for Roberto Di Matteo's side so far this season.
Chelsea just sent a message to all big rivals that they would face a tougher opponent this season, enabling Chelsea’s title challenge to be taken much more seriously.
John Terry got banned for four games by the FA in light of an investigation into the alleged racial abuse directed at Anton Ferdinand of QPR last season. The ban will not be enforced until Terry has either responded to the sentence or the 14-day appeal period has expired.
Roberto Di Matteo handled this issue perfectly that he included John Terry in the starting lineup and didn't care about the abuse which Terry received form Arsenal fans.
As he revealed: 'I had to think about what the right thing was [ whether to include JT ] and in the end I made the right decision.'
In the next five league games, Chelsea will face Liverpool, Tottenham Hotspurs and Manchester United; three difficult encounters to say the least. So it would be a tough task to secure all 9 points from these three particular games but thanks to the confidence we gained from the Arsenal victory which will boost the team and help maintain this fine start for Blues.
It will be no easy task for the Blues, but if they can continue to grab points at this rate, then they will certainly be in the highest echelons of the table come May 2013.
Confidence & momentum are back which give us high hopes of achieving further success over the coming weeks. Also, I hope that Fernando Torres score more goals which would help him retain his old form.
