Chelsea Transfer News Update

Chelsea Transfer News Update as of 12 July 2012

A lot of different sources are reporting a lot of different news, as always. While some claim, a deal has been done, others claim the deal is off. So instead of bombarding you with all the different sources and their stories, we will give you a summary. Quoting sources and posting what they have reported has been cumbersome.

Hulk:

Since Hazard, Hulk has been the most sought after player for the fans. This saga is definitely the winner of the season, as we had guessed a couple of months ago. The latest:
Differing versions. Some say the deal is off as Oscar is most likely to sign for Chelsea. Recent statements by Hulk and Pinta da Costa have suggested that no bids have been placed.

A few sources still maintain Hulk could yet sign for Chelsea. Oscar is more of a Modric replacement.

Oscar:

Of all the names linked to Chelsea, Oscar is the player most likely to sign. The club officials and his agent have revealed that talks are on going. If the deal is agreed, it could be officially announced after the Olympics. Fee could be around £20-25 Million.

Modric:

There were rumors of Chelsea hijacking Real Madrid's bid for Modric. Modric has openly said he prefers a move to Madrid. News was out last night claiming PSG could be the team to hijack Modric.

PSG are in the middle of completing a deal for AC Milan's Thiago Silva and Zlatan. If they were to buy Modric also, one wonders how they would manage the FFP. Remember, they have already signed Lavezzi.

Maicon:

As per the latest reports from Italy, Maicon's transfer to Chelsea has cooled off. The problem being the length of the contract. Exact figures are unknown. But some say Maicon wants a 4 year deal and Chelsea are prepared to offer 3.

Debuchy:

Lille are unwilling to part with their Right Back and are planing to offer a new contract. Most likely Debuchy will still be playing in France next season.

KDB:

Some rumors out today were saying KDB could be loaned to a German club. Werder Bremen being a possibility. Others believe, the talented winger could be loaned to Bayer Leverkusen as part of the Schurrle deal.

Andre Schurrle:

This is not a rumor anymore. Bayer officials had made a statement in which they said Chelsea were interested in signing Schurrle. £16 Million was offered, but declined. Rumors suggest, Chelsea could go in with a higher bid.

If the deal works out, expect Sturridge to leave. Schurrle could also be a back up option to Hulk.
