A Round-Up Of The Latest Transfer Rumours

It is painfully evident to one and all that Chelsea need a new striker. With the January transfer window drawing nearer, a host of strikers have been linked with a move to Stamford Bridge. Chelsea FC 360 takes a look at every name that has been linked to Chelsea so far and assesses whether or not they would be ideal for the club at this point in time :-

1) Luis Suarez- The Daily Express reported that Chelsea could be willing to Suarez from Liverpool. If sources are to be believed, the Uruguayan would cost around £40M, with Manchester City also reportedly interested in him. He would be a decent addition to this Chelsea line-up as his style of play would perfectly compliment Chelsea's attacking style. However, it seems unlikely that Liverpool will sell the one man who has effectively kept them out of the relegation zone.

2) Mario Gomez- The Bayern Munich hit-man was linked with a £40M move to Stamford Bridge by CaughtOffside. Gomez hasn't been a regular for Bayern this season due to an ankle problem but his ability to find the back of the net might make him seem an ideal fit for Chelsea. However, he tends to not show up in big games (a good example would be the Champions League final in 2012) and seems a tad bit expensive for someone who can be described as a goal-poacher at best. Let's hope this rumour remains just that: a rumour.

3) Wilfried Bony- The Ivory Coast international has been in fine form for Dutch club Vitesse Arnhem this season, scoring 15 goals so far. A number of sources, including the Daily Mail and Sky Sports have linked him to Chelsea. His agent has said that Chelsea as well as Liverpool are interested, but has conceded that a move will depend on Vitesse. At 23, he is still young and clearly improving and would be a decent addition to this Chelsea squad if he were to make the move to Stamford Bridge. He wouldn't be as expensive as some of Chelsea's other targets either, with his price reported to be a paltry £8M.

4) André Schürrle- The German international has been on Chelsea's radar since the summer, with Chelsea trying to sign him several times throughout the summer and even on deadline day. The Mirror reported that Chelsea had recently sent scouts to watch the forward play, sparking rumours that Chelsea might target him again in January. His creative style of play and clinical finishing ability will certainly suit Chelsea. He will reportedly cost Chelsea around £20M, but the transfer will hinge largely on Leverkusen's ability to find a suitable replacement for the German as well as their willingness to let go of their star player.

5) Karim Benzema- Admittedly one of the more unbelievable rumours doing the rounds. Spanish newspaper AS claimed that  Real Madrid striker Benzema would be willing to listen to offers immediately and that Chelsea could be in the race to sign the talented Frenchman. A clinical goal-scorer who is comfortable on the ball, Benzema would certainly be a decent signing should he choose to move to Stamford Bridge. However, the rumour seems an unlikely one.

6) Alessandro Matri- Football Italia reported that both Arsenal and Chelsea are willing to sign the Juventus striker for a fee of around £12.9M. Again, this story appears unbelievable. Matri is 28 years old and isn't even a regular starter for Juventus, so why would Chelsea be interested in him? Here's hoping that this story isn't true.

7) Freda Taison- The Metalist Kharkiv attacker/striker was recently linked with a move to Stamford Bridge by a number of sources. The 24-year old Taison is certainly a handful for defenders and has the ability to score a few goals. He is valued at around £10M, a bargain compared to today's transfer fees. However, he isn't a clinical scorer and may not necessarily be the answer to Chelsea's attacking problems at present.

If you had to choose from all the names mentioned above, who would you want Chelsea to sign in January? Do let us know!

    1. Links to Falcao have cooled down, hence I've not mentioned him. Plus, I wanted to present names other than Falcao and Cavani.

  8. andry schurrle and bony wilfred will be a perfect signing for chelsea if we eventually go for them. Roman is just wasting is cash on big players. As for me, I will prefer any of the mentioned name and call back lukaku on loan to strenghten our attacking line up.

  9. We need falcao, willian and a deep lying midfielder, who can create chances from double pivot role...i think we should play oscar instead of ramires in coming matches..if he isnt playing good enough we must buy a new player...we cant cope with mikel and rami in our midfield...lukaku will be a good option from the bench...

  10. Better not let Man U get hold of Robert Lewandoski. Every great club has 4 strikers but we need at least three for rotation. Otherwise, fatigue will set in again. Picture the damage that Chelsea can do with:

    Falcao (Main Striker)
    Lewandoski (Main Striker)
    Lukaku (Support Striker)

  12. I do not believe that any interim coach Benitez to get so many big budget to be able to bring big names and big money spent for reinforcements. It will be very difficult even if he wanted to do and if there are big money for big names, because after what happened in November to the middle of the season, sacked coach RDM doubt that expensive and required the players want to come. If such is the will to live even better, I'd love to be wrong about this but I have great doubts that. Although reinforcements were necessary to us in January, even with such a coach who has this problem, or have the form of the players, their motivations and character of psychological victory for the team that has acquired in the recent past. From Torres and D.S hardly be expected that the attack may be solutions, because Torres can not return to old form and odrađivati their job and that's it, I think everybody in the club happens if you are not aware, then management is not normal and with it there is something wrong.Luis Suarez is not the best solution at the moment because the guy hated throughout England and beyond, and it is also very expensive and tends ičidentima of any kind on the ground that we do not need to be no more popular than now.Mario Gomez would be a good solution for a number of years because it is very powerful and simply unstoppable player, who has a very zagrađivanje the receipt of the ball, penetration, kick indefensible and plays well in the high jump. Amplification of the sound he would have been ideal striker for us at the moment. nd with a budget that is possible Freda Taison and Wilfried Bonj would be the most optimal because they cost very little to our club and to the improvement of his would have been the case to fit into the team would not be ideal because of the high pressure and in the case made a statement to great benefit.Because in any other case, until the situation is resolved in the club and while the people in the administration do not wake up from sleep and some players who have big problems, and that the head of its weak position n in the club as we this would be the right thing because, if nothing else a refreshment and the team has always been good. although I think that the team in January and the current composition of the coach and go into January's form and record the victory, because we are always critical neseći November and dčembar is simply amazing and the management team needs to be a good defensive midfielder to finds as a matter of urgency and the striker because that is the main problem.

  13. Schrulle and Bony, recall Lukaku and sell Torres.

  14. okay, last night i was tired and i just wrote my 2cents worth without giving good reason. So here we go again.

Rafa needs to consider a few things for this coming transfer window peiod. He might not get the funds he wants considering how he's failed to get a win in three games, and how Pep is still the man Roman wants at the bridge. So you gotta work with a target of possibly aroung 30mill for this wondow, unless Roman gets personally involved in bringing in El Tigre.

Wilfried Bony has been sensational at Vittese, to make things even better they are an affiliate club to Chelsea. The man is quick and young, he has an eye for gaol and i believe he would thrive at chelsea. Our last Ivorian became a legend, coming in at a similar age to Bony, maybe this man could emulate his exploits in the blue of Chelsea!

Andre Schrulle has shown his quality at Leverkusen, he is deadly and would be a great addition to the Chelsea squad. European pedigree has already been proven with his exploits in Germany, so we wont have to worry about him choking. With the supporting three of MAZACAR he could become one of the deadliest strikers around.

The last simple solution is to recall Lukaku from West Brom, the man is a beast and we are letting another team benefit from this. He has shown that he can excel in the premier league, so lets give him a run in our squad and see what he can do. He's hungry and could be the solution to our striker problems right now.
