Lampard to L.A Galaxy: Should We Let Him Go?

Living Legend: Frank Lampard

This morning reports are rife that L.A Galaxy are in for our Legend Lampard. Although this could be one of the media speculations Lampard has 1 year on his contract and celebrating his 34th birthday on 20th June, many will believe it is the right time to cash in on him before injury sets in.

However others including me believe Frank is an asset to the club and if managed well could be our own Giggs or Scholes. Every top team on like Chelsea certainly will need characters like Lampard on the pitch and in the dressing room to impact the Chelsea spirit on the up & coming ones. Should this conundrum had happened under AVB, the answer would have been no brainer since Lampard told the whole world that their relationship was not "ideal" but under RDM we saw Lampard who was ready to pair with Mikel in the double pivot role & made history for our club.

This new role adapted by Lampard suites his age & the team since he does not run forward as usual. we sa how his exquisite pass to Ramires in the UCL against Barcelona both home & away gave us two valuable goals in our club's history also not forgetting his pass to Drogba against Liverpool in the F.A cup final. To me we missed Lampard greatly when Chelsea took the Lead against United by 3 goals & they came back to equalize at The Bridge. The presence of Lampard could have calmed the boys when United pulled one back just as Barcelona scored and Terry was red carded. Frank quickly organized the boys and we saw how one pass from him to Ramires saved the day.

To me Lampard is an asset to the club although we can't rely on him solely, we would need a player in his mould and maybe more creative one, since he is not growing any younger and I know that he understands that but I will not let Lampard go for all the rice in China. What he adds to the team and its image is irreplaceable.

  1. I know it's only speculation but if Frank leaves,it will sadden me greatly. Afterall the man is my idol and is partly the reason why I chose Chelsea as my personal favourite team. Zane.

  2. Yes, he's one of the reason why many people started supporting chelsea, I remember the first match I saw him, we were one goal down against arsenal(2005) but because of his flair and leadership qualities we came from behind to win. That was the moment I became a chelsea fan. KTBFFH
