Always in our Hearts: Kalou & Bosingwa
Kalou moved to Chelsea on 30th May 2006, for a fee of approx. £9m. He was given the No.21 shirt by Jose Mourinho. Former Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho praised the young Ivorian as being hardworking, versatile, eager to improve, and unafraid of the physical side of the game. Kalou admitted that he brought a camera with him to his first training session at Cobham because he could not believe that he was going to be rubbing shoulders with famous footballers like JT, Lampard and Drogba. Describing the experience,
Kalou said:
"This was the dream moment of my life and I did not want to wake up and find that it was not real."
Kalou since then has made 254 appearances for Chelsea including 147 starts. He has managed to score 60 goals and provide 40 assists.During his time at Chelsea, his scoring average per season was 10 goals per season. Isn't this impressive considering he rarely used to start and was used more as an impact substitute.
His wish when he first came to Chelsea was to win every major trophy that is there to be won and his wish came true when we won the Champions League on 19th May 2012.
Silverware won during his time at Chelsea :
- UEFA Champions League
- Barclays Premier League
- FACup
- League Cup
- FA Community Sheild
"ONCE A BLUE ALWAYS A BLUE,WHO NEEDS MESSI WHEN WE'VE GOT KALOU".
