Lucas Piazon is a 18 year old Brazilian footballer. On 15
March 2011, São Paulo announced that Piazon could only play for Chelsea senior
team after 20 January 2012 when he became eligible to obtain a work visa, but
he would join in the 2011 summer transfer window. Chelsea announced it 10 days
later with Piazon passing a medical in London in early March 2011. It was
reported that Chelsea paid in the region of £5 million to acquire Piazon, which
could rise to £10 million depending on several clauses.
Chelsea had to fight with several top clubs in order to
sign Piazon. The talent that he displayed in the U17 World Cup assured everyone
that he was a player who could become one of the best in the world. His passes
and finishing created havoc for teams in the tournaments that he played in.
Piazon is a tactical player and is known for his flair,
passing and clinical finishing. He is also incredibly fast when running with
the ball and is a powerful shooter of the ball. His free kicks are usually
accurate and powerful. Piazon says that his style is unlike that of typical
Brazilian forwards. He doesn't tend to run with the ball but passes it around
to create chances. There have been comparisons between Piazon and Kaka as they
both possess similar attributes and natural technical finesse. Piazon is
primarily a forward although he also plays as a winger, an attacking midfielder
or in the hole behind the striker. He is credited with lots of assists and can
also finish well to score. He was also named Chelsea's Youth Player of the Season
for last season and featured in the team that won the FA Youth Cup.
Piazon is yet to feature for Chelsea but possesses lots
of talent. A loan spell to one the Premier League of Liga BBVA clubs could give
him an opportunity to develop his talent and gain some valuable experience. At
just 18 years old, Piazon has time and can develop immensely as a player.
Combine his potential and versatility, and Chelsea can have a top class player
at their disposal within 3 or 4 years.

He did play in the Seattle game as a replacement for Lukaku. In that second half midfielders didnt quite manage to produce chances for him so that's dissapointing.
