The 21-year-old Belgian sensation electrified and set the DW
Stadium ablaze as he wowed the critics and the rest of the EPL fans alike with
a dazzling performance which quickly earned him a great assist in the opening
two minutes of the game for the Chelsea’s first EPL 2012-13 goal through
Ivanovic. Just after five minutes, Hazard again showed his quality with an
incredible pace, tricky and swift feet which again provided us with a decent
penalty earning him the second assist according to EPL rules and was banged in
the net by Frank Lampard, his 37th penalty goal out of 40. After the
match, the legendary EPL midfielder Lampard, showed his admiration of the
performance of his new team mate, Hazard through an interview with Sky Sports.
Lampard: “He (Hazard)
was brilliant. It’s a young age to come into the Premier League, no matter how
good of a player you are. He had the quality he has with the spin and the ball
to put Ivanovic through and he showed great speed to get away from his man for
the penalty. He was great and is what the fans have been crying to see… it was
a great start to the game…”
According to Roberto Di Matteo; “Hazard was outstanding, he produced a lot of quality. He was a big
threat and was difficult to mark. He managed to get away from his man and it
was very pleasant to watch him today. He combined well with his team-mates. He
was exactly what we were looking for. He has got great technical ability, a
burst of pace as well to get away from players; he can play with his back to
goal. He has a lot of characteristics which he’ll bring to our team.” When
Di Matteo was asked if he feared Hazard would be butchered by defenders, he
remarked “these kinds of players,
they’re difficult to mark; they are good on the ball, they move…I don’t think
teams will try to.”
Hazard himself was delighted with his performance and the
performance of the team and after winning the Man-Of-The-Match award he
expressed his delight at the performance of his debut League match picking up
the MOTM award and the performance of his team as a whole.
For most fans who have followed Hazard from the French
league, you will know this is just the beginning of what we are going to see
from Hazard. He makes a real difference to any team and some have us who cried
his name throughout before he was signed can be vindicated. I believe the
critics and all the rival fans who wanted to play down his importance to
Chelsea will begin to eat back their word one by one. His telepathy and great
understanding he has quickly built up with Mata will continue to threaten every
team in the world. The only way he can be dispossessed off the ball was when he
was fouled and I believe he needs a real protection from referees since he is
always going to be at the receiving end of vicious tackles from EPL defenders.
After Hazard was substituted on the 64th minute, he was given a standing ovation and a rousing applause by
the fans.
So Lampard has described Hazard’s performance as
“brilliant”, Di Matteo has described it as “outstanding” performance. How would
you describe the performance of Hazard in one sentence? Do not forget about the
elegant performance of Oscar in his short cameo as a Chelsea player.

Exciting
ReplyDeleteHazard was sensational. Good start from him brought in the assist and PK. Victor Moses is next in performance as he gradually entered into the game. So unlucky not to have at least an assist, but now we all know why. Torres was next for me and I still don't know why he doesn't take PK's and yet he wants to compete with Europe's top scorers. The others; Oscar, Ivanovic and Lampard did well but the later two helped increase Moses ratings along with Ashley.
ReplyDeleteHazard was simply fantabulous.Oscar wa great.i would like to see more of Oscar and prove the critics wrong. If we play that way and improve,i can see us winning thing bedie 2013/14 season.
ReplyDeleteBrilliant.
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely fantastic!
ReplyDeleteAwesome, outlandish n super impressive display from Hazard. Oscar? Pure class n sheer brilliance.
ReplyDeletewat re people actually expecting from torres just because he didnt get a goalagainst wigan people have started saying that he played poorly for me torres was great even if je didnt score
ReplyDeleteYes I agree. We're still not playing to Torres' strengths that's why it isn't easy scoring in a Chelsea shit. I didn't see him getting enough through balls like he'd want to but mostly balls where his back is at the goal, meaning he should do all the hard work by turning and dribbling past defenders. I'm not saying he can't do it...it's just not the way he'd like to play. I'm glad you can see past the negative.
DeleteLol I meant that's why it aint easy scoring in a Chelsea shirt. Not a Chelsea shit.
DeleteThe new boys are going to win something for the club! Oscar, hazard, mata are fantastic players. Blues4eva
ReplyDeleteIm sure the new boys is gonna win some trophies dis season with the likes of hazard, oscar, marin, mata and some good players.brilliant one.
ReplyDeleteEnormous.
ReplyDeleteUnfortunately, Torres is too lazy to lead the revolution, we need a striker that can score playing with his back facing goal, good shooting and heading. Torres wants to eliminate competition in a big team as Chelsea and such monopoly would lead to sub standard performance from him. We need a striker that can really hit the ball, especially from distance.
