Moses or Hulk? |
Bear in mind that signing both of them is out of the question. We only need one of them, it would be ridiculous to sign both. So the question is, who do we sign?
Hulk seems like a more reliable option to me. While the £40M price-tag that Porto have slapped on the Brazilian is ridiculous, there's no doubting his ability. Hulk has been a mainstay in the Porto XI for a while now, & has consistently been one of their better performers. His stats over the last 2 seasons are phenomenal. In 2010/11, he recorded 36 goals & 21 assists in 53 appearances. In 2011/12, he recorded 21 goals & 15 assists in 38 appearances. Considering the fact that he's mainly a winger, a return of 57 goals in 2 seasons is brilliant. 36 assists in 2 seasons isn't that bad either.
Now don't get me wrong, Victor Moses is talented. He's been one of the better players that Wigan have had over the last 2 seasons. Problem is, most fans don't tend to see Moses as a regular in the Chelsea starting XI. Whether as a winger or as a striker, he wouldn't be able to displace anyone. He's unproven at the European level, as Wigan are mostly busy fighting relegation. While he has shown flashes of brilliance for Wigan, that's not really enough to judge him on. The fact that Wigan's owner Dave Whelan seems reluctant to sell him in the first place may also be a bit of a dampener.
The signing of either of these players (despite my personal preference of Hulk) seems almost necessary, as Chelsea are in need of a player who can operate as a winger/forward. I firmly believe that the signing of either one of these players will prove very beneficial for the club in the long run.

We need HULK NOW !
ReplyDeleteHulk we love and need u cfc.
ReplyDeleteIf Lukaku is going out on loan n 2 strikers won't take us through the season, then we need a better striker not a utility winger. The right wing is not very threatening becuz all the wingers so far play better on the left and are competent in the middle and awkward on the right. When I remember Fernando on d wings I remember it was bcuz he was not scoring/ very dangerous up front. Hulk may prove a competent striker but he is better on d wings. I think Hulk wld not solve the strike problem hence he's not necessary, Moses wld be better bcuz of d advantages;home grown, Stong/Fast n skillful under 25 hence longer service, PL proven. We can get cheaper n more clinical strike backups in Cisse, Adebayor or even VP. Then we wld need a natural right back also like Cesar.
ReplyDeleteYour article is well composed but not objective. You take issues personal and it makes me lose interest. l believe Moses is prefered for the edge he has over Hulk.
ReplyDeleteMoses! he is cheaper and under 25.
ReplyDeleteOk, if we sign Hulk then he should be happy with the bench(vacancy) cuz I don't know who we are eager to throw there. Definitely not my Marin and not your Torres. Torres starts up front, Mata would be allowed to defend his best player and Harzard would have signed a starter contract leaving just 1 slot in the final third. But it would be good to have 2 teams though, one a little bit stronger than the other.
ReplyDeleteOf Course !!!!!!!1 HULK is the great choice ...as chelsea need right attacking midfield hulk is best choice than moses...so HULK is the best attacker which is very problem for defenders for opposition..
ReplyDeleteMoses is a better option for chelsea
ReplyDeleteDid you see Hulk for Brazil at the Olympics??? I don't think he is great for Chelsea. Also, he is 26 with 40 million pounds price tag. Hulk is also unproven in the Champion Leagues as well. It is very wasteful when we need to deal with FFP. Moses is much better option.
ReplyDeletewe dont need big spending anymore look at what happened with torres he will just be under pressure to perform look at player like cahill who are proven in the pl but they cost less they just strugle to perform but no pressure
ReplyDeleteHULK is agile than Moses, and He will perform to the expectation.
ReplyDeleteif we buy Moses and give him some time he will do somthing more than hulk
ReplyDeleteHulk has been uselees at d olympics certainly noy worth 40m. Moses or cavani would better
ReplyDeleteI think we have 3 more signings in us coming this season and they are, Cesar, Moses and Cavani, As far as Hulk vs Moses. Hulk is currently a safer choice but more then 4 times more expensive and Moses is only 21 vs Hulk 26 so its definitely worth the risk investing in Moses. Not sure if it is worth the risk investing in Hulk.
ReplyDeleteHulk every time I come from Wigan so I do know about Moses and he would be a good signing for a team like Liverpool Newcastle not for teams like Chelsea. And the Manchester clubs
