Two beauty: Hazard and Torres fired Chelsea to the top of the Premier League |
Chelsea maintained their 100% start to the season with a comfortable 2-0 win over Newcastle United at Stamford Bridge on Saturday evening.
Eden Hazard had the chance to open his account from the penalty spot after Torres was upended by Anita, the Belgian attacker made no mistake from 12-yards for 1-0. Torres then got his second of the season with an amazing strike from the edge of the box to secure Chelsea’s third win from three games.
The win sends Chelsea three points clear of Swansea at the top of the table but the Blues have played a game more.
Chelsea have used the opening week of the Premier League season to deliver a true statement of intent. A team that had stuttered and sunk beyond the fringes of the title race last term will compete more balanced for the title this time around. This team boasts the class to unseat the Manchester clubs.
Eden Hazard has been brilliant for the Blues. With Hazard's strong play, Chelsea has proved early on they are the team to beat.
In three matches, Hazard has been involved in seven of eight goals for the new-look Chelsea, totaling six assists and a goal of his own.
Hazard's addition to Roberto Di Matteo's side has rejuvenated the team and has Chelsea looking the part of a top-place finisher. Where as Chelsea relied on strong defense and counterattacking play last season, this year the team is much better in attack, much thanks to Hazard.

For a year and a half Fernando Torres Struggled a lot as a result of lack of confidence and lack of creativity from his team mates, Hazard has drastically improved the service to Torres, and it's no coincidence that Torres is off to a good start.
Again and again Hazard man of the match every match, The more Hazard plays, the more he will get comfortable and look even better. The potential upside for Hazard is astronomical and can win the assist leader of the Premier League .
