The January transfer window is not yet upon us, but the transfer rumours are already flying thick and fast. And how can any transfer window be complete without a few players being linked with a move to Stamford Bridge? Chelsea FC 360 takes a look at the latest transfer rumours and assesses how likely or ridiculous they are :-
1) Lazar Markovic- An 18-year old who primarily operates as a second striker and possesses a whole lot of potential, Lazar Markovic currently plies his trade at Serbian club FK Partizan. The youngster has made 6 appearances for his native Serbia and scored 1 international goal. According to the Daily Mail, Liverpool, Arsenal and Inter Milan are also in for the Serbian. He would cost around £8M to begin with but the transfer fee could increase to £14M depending on appearances. Markovic has previously spoken positively about Chelsea and has plenty of potential. He isn't exactly expensive either. If he were to join Chelsea, he wouldn't be a bad signing at all.
2) Sergio Busquets- One of the more far-fetched rumours of this year. The Sunday People reported that Chelsea had recently sent scouts to watch the Barcelona midfielder in action. The price of the player is reported to be as high as £37M. Despite his diving antics, he is most certainly one of the best defensive midfielders in the world. However, with Mikel having recently signed a 5-year contract extension and Romeu not looking likely to leave any time soon, this particular transfer looks highly unlikely at best. If the transfer does indeed materialize I will be very surprised.
3) Marouane Fellaini- This rumour has been around since the summer and is still going strong. With Marouane Fellaini in fine form for Everton this season, a number of big clubs, including Manchester United, Manchester City and Chelsea are reportedly interested in signing the Belgian, who could cost up to £30M if rumours are to be believed. Despite his form, there are some reservations as to whether he would be able to flourish at Chelsea due to his style of play. However, it wouldn't be very surprising to see Fellaini don the Chelsea blue come January given the persistent nature of the rumours.
4) Jackson Martinez- The Colombian striker moved to Porto from Mexican side Jaguares in the summer, but it seems like Porto are already willing to cash in on him if the Metro are to be believed. Martinez has been in fine form so far this season, scoring 9 goals in his first 9 league appearances for Porto. Despite interest from a host of European clubs (including Atletico Madrid and Inter Milan), it is believed that Martinez would prefer a move to the Premier League. He would cost around £20M. Given Chelsea's lack of firepower up front, this story might just have some substance to it.
From all four players mentioned above, which player (name just one) would you like to see join Chelsea? Do let us know!

We hope that our management team are not so bad agents to bring players what Larar Markovic from Partizan Belgrade as tavih players we have in the academy and reserves among many who never get the chance to play for the first team and show what they know and can do. This talk about Lazar Markovic because I am from Serbia and I know what the players here, there's a very funny football league where every boy was in our academy striker Lazar Markovic or any player odvavde barely scoring goals and how it would be only in the PL because these players from this region are mentally and physically weak. So I think it would be a shame because the other great talents that are already in the club, waiting for their chance to get the same results, we need that will take effect immediately and is currently playing as a team and the club itself and not someone who does not can not in the local league Serbian striker to be.Admittedly it is a great talent that's true and if it is taken away to be followed in a loan to mature as a player, that's another matter, but for the debut of the PL is very far away!

ReplyDeleteWow. Imagine the king of diving in the EPL. He'll get yellow cards all the time and I doubt he'll be able to handle the pace of the EPL. The only player I think is good enough is Jackson Martinez.
ReplyDeleteNo need for Markovic... Around 12M for him? We have tons of talent in the youth squad. Busquets and Fellaini dont think would be good for us. Martinez looks fine but we can find much better on the market, Bony is cheaper and looks more clinical! I don't think any of these will be arriving this winter!
