BREAKING NEWS : Oriol Romeu out for 6 months

Chelsea Football Club can confirm that Spain international, Oriol Romeu has been sidelined for 6 months .Romeu underwent anterior cruciate reconstruction surgery and medial meniscus repair yesterday (Monday). He is expected to be out for six months. He suffered the injury midway through Chelsea's 1-3 victory over Sunderland in the Stadium of Light.

Romeu's loss is a big blow to Chelsea as they now don't have Ramires, Mikel or him for their Leed's League Cup tie. Moreover Mikel is set to miss a part of our season as he prepares to play for Nigeria in the African Cup of Nations. Chelsea will probably look into young George Saville from the academy, to step up on their behalf. The club can also look into the possibility of bringing back Josh McEachran from loan at Middlesbrough where he has been doing really well.
