Napoli Price Tag Cavani at a whooping €70M

Is he worth €70 million?
Exclusive reports from Tuttosport,Football Italia,Inside futbol, Sports Mole, Crunch sports and some other newspapers are widely reporting that Napoli are willing to sell their tailsmanic Uruguayan striker Edinson Cavani for about 70 million Euros. Cavani who joined Napoli in the summer of 2010 is being chased by a host of clubs most notably the Blues,Juventus and Leagues top spenders and winners Manchester City. The 25 year old is under lock and key with Italian giants till 2016 which is the reason why Napoli are demanding for such a mammoth amount.

The forward recently cast doubt on his future at the San Paolo by as good as admitting that failure to qualify for next season's Champions League could lead to him seeking a summer transfer. As well as Chelsea and Man City, Italian champions Juventus, and French giants Paris Saint-Germain are both thought to be keen on signing the Uruguay international. But Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis has insisted he will only let Cavani leave the club this summer should his valuation is met.

A report read-
One of the best srtikers in Europe at the moment.
Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis has insisted he will only let Cavani leave the club this summer should his valuation is met.

"People claim that I intend to sell Cavani," he told Tuttosport.

And he added: "Of course, if they are offering €70m in cash."

Speaking earlier this month, Cavani refused to rule out a move away from Napoli this summer, telling Goal.com: "I do not know anything about what happened or what is happening.

"I am only thinking about these matches with the national team, which will close the season. After this, I want to go on holiday, which will be very important."

Cavani  who scored 23 goals from 35 appearences in Serie-A and 5 goals in 8 appearences in Europe is one of the hottest strikers in Europe and has even shivered the Blues defence in that 3-1 loss. In my opinion if the Blues manage to land Edinson at Stamford Bridge it could be one of the best signings in the history of Chelsea. Talks with Porto for Hulk are yet to reach any solid conclusion and his agent strongly hinted lately that the Brazilian starlet could remain at Porto or move elsewhere, Cavani could just be the signing the Blues need to set-up one of the strongest attacking forces throughout Europe.

Till then KTBFFH as always and stay tuned for more transfer gossip....

  1. Cavani is way too expensive for me. We already have a star striker (torres) who is gaining confidence at the euros. Rather go for hulk for his versatility. Sturridge should be granted his wish to play as striker as a sub for torres. Hulk and ramires can be subs for each other on that right attacking flank.
