When the summer transfer window opens, expect plenty of players to be linked to Chelsea FC. The reasons are obvious enough: We always compete for trophies, & we can offer high wages on account of having a rich owner. This transfer window has been no different, with the club being strongly linked to Lucas Moura, Edinson Cavani, Radamel Falcao, Gonzalo Higuain, Luka Modric, Gregory Van Der Weil, Hulk, Cheik Tiote & a host of others. So far, the club has officially completed the signing of 2 players: Marko Marin & Eden Hazard.
Let us now take a close look at our 2 new stars:-
|
The German Messi |
|
|
Marko Marin-
Marko Marin reached a deal with the club on April 28, 2012. He joins us from Werder Bremen, after spending 4 seasons at the club. He hails from Bosnia and Herzegovina, but plays international football for Germany. Marko Marin is primarily a winger who is known for his prolific assist-making. However, his versatility also allows him to play in a more central "No. 10" role behind the striker. Marin is known mostly for his speed, dribbling ability, technique & an ability to beat players for fun. His style of play has often drawn comparisons to Lionel Messi, which has led to him being nicknamed the "German Messi". He can also score goals, but is known more for his ability to create goals for his team-mates. The fee that the club paid for him is believed to be around £6.5m, a bargain considering that he arrives at the club as a highly-rated & extremely talented player. He is a quality signing, & there is no doubt that he will be an integral part of the revived "Chelsea Project".

New Blue Boy: Eden Hazard |
Eden Hazard- This man needs absolutely no introduction. It was a known fact that Eden Hazard would be leaving his boyhood club Lille at the end of the 2011-12 season. What was not known was who he would sign for. Every big club in Europe wanted to secure his signature. Eventually, Hazard revealed (via his Twitter account) that he will be signing for "the Champions League winners", something confirmed by Chelsea FC a few days later. Hazard is a versatile player who can play on either wing or even in the "No. 10" role. He's technically sound, has speed, dribbling ability & is just as good at scoring goals as he is in creating them. He has won the UNFP Ligue 1 Player of the year twice (2010-11, 2011-12), & ended the 2011-12 Ligue 1 season with 20 goals & 15 assists. That is an astonishing record for a player who is only 21 years old. He has earned 28 caps for Belgium, & is considered to be one of Europe's most outstanding talents. He was signed for around £32m, & will be looking to fulfill his enormous potential at Stamford Bridge in the 2012-13 season.
After a torrid 18 months at Stamford Bridge, the shape of the new squad
being molded by Roman Abramovich and it appears to be geared towards
exploiting our number 9's strengths. Well in my opinion these new
signings should be sweet music in Torres's ear. Mr. Abrahmovich is
trying to build the team around the Spaniard. Hazard and Marin the most
important aspects of these two lads game are pace, technique and ability
to feed the striker. With The Drog now gone, Torres has got to pull up
his socks and try and fill the void Didier has left. It has been much
stated, but the man they call ‘El Nino’ was at his best for Liverpool
when the set up of the side was geared towards getting him the ball in
the right areas.

Trying to bring back the old Torres: Roman Abramovich |
And the addition of two of Europe's hottest
properties in Eden and Marko look like Chelsea are going just on the
appropriate track.
Till then fellow Blues KTBFFH as always!
Our future is brite
