Bye Bye Danny, Hello Demba?

Bye Bye Danny, Hello Demba?
Well throughout this week rumours have been that Daniel Sturridge is all set to leave Chelsea. He will probably leave in January with his destination most likely to be Liverpool. Sturridge was all set to move to Merseyside this past transfer window but the deal fell through. They are very likely to try for him again as they struggle to find goals and have a lack of Strikers. But if he does indeed leave it would be for around the 15 million pound mark. If the deal does indeed go though that means we have 15 million pounds to spend on another stiker otherwise Torres will be our only option up front. In today's market 15 million pounds is not a lot of money to spend on a top class player but there is one man in the PL that ticks all the right boxes. His name is Demba Ba.

Demba Ba plays for Newcastle United and is an absolute scoring machine. He was arguably the bargain of last season transferring from West Ham United on a free transfer. There has been no turning back for him since then. Last season he managed a solid 16 goals in 36 games. He is Mr Reliable and whenever you need a goal from him, he will almost always deliver. The reason he is a striking option for Chelsea is that Alan Pardew recently came out and said that his star Senegalese frontman has a clause in his contract that will allow him to leave in January for 7 million pounds. He has been in great form for Newcastle so far this season but there are many reasons why this deal could benefit both Newcastle and Chelsea.

Benefits for Newcastle: As we have seen in recent years Alan Pardew is the master of buying cheap players and turning them into superstars, some names including including Yohan Cabaye and Hatem Ben Arfa. With a handy 7 million pounds who knows what Pardew could do with this money. Also as statistics show Newcastle's two star strikers do NOT work well together. Last season after Papiss Cisse arrived on Tyneside, Demba Ba went through a lengthy goal drought after starting the season in very promising form. So far this season Papiss Cisse has struggled to find the net while Ba has been on fire. If Demba was to leave then Newcastle would most like see the best of Papiss Cisse again.

Benefits for Chelsea: Firstly he is a bargain compared to other strikers we have been linked with and he is a proven and consistent goal scorer in the EPL. He also wouldn't mind sitting on the bench for Torres and when he does come on, he will bring a positive attitude like he did when he came off the bench in the game vs Everton and scored twice to snatch the Magpies a handy ( but undeserved) point. He is currently 27 which means he is just about to reach peak age for a striker. Ba will also give us the physical presence in the team that we have missed since the departure of Drogba.

Demba Ba is a terrific striker who I believe we should pursue with great interest. At 7 million he is an absolute steal and the deal would be good for both clubs involved. We want positive people at Chelsea Football Club like Demba Ba and if Daniel Sturridge is just going to moan all the time then its time to show him the door. Sure he is a potential world beater but we can not have that negative attitude effecting others in the dressing room and gettting rid of him may be whats best for the team.

  5. Well if i was Sturidge, i probably will not be training in cobham any more. Cus when a player is benchd, he want to see his replacement play better bt to bench Sturidge for low confidence n over thinkin Torres is absolutely unacceptable.

  6. "He also wouldn't mind sitting on the bench for Torres". Stop say this because torres is a baby cry and play with torres is like we play with 10 players. He is useless!

  7. Sturridge used to be a selfish player but is still young and can be corrected and improved further. Why don't we give him a chance? Play him as FW and put Torres on the bench (also to make Torres more inspirational). IMO, Sturridge can be turned into a truly world beater. Frankly, I am tired with Torres's inconsistent performance.

  9. No, hell no. What u talking bot ba? I will not be happy Seeing him in blue and he's not a player that we will be after. It's a joke really. I hope Daniel stays, every time he was given a chance he proved him self worty.... Strikers are selfish n they meant to be... Stay blue Daniel, this could be your year.

  10. Yeah, I hope Danny stays cuz at least he can still become world class especially after association with Drogba and Torres, letting him go would be a fatal blow. But Chelsea must understand that he is no longer a kid and fast becoming a man. He did his part going out on loan and developing himself unlike some others and now, we have to do our part. If we think he can score goals, then why not get him involved. To be honest, I'm scared of the prospect of Sturidge playing for Tottenham or Liverpool as a striker and I know they would be scared of him playing for us too. Danny must be given the opportunity to defend himself as a striker at Chelsea before been condemned as not good enough. If he leaves, good for his career. If he stays, good for Chelsea.

  11. Sturidge is one of the best young strikers in the EPL. He just has to be convinced that he is needed by the club. We can start with offering him more game time including starts and based on performance, we offer him a decent contract. All he needs to be happy is CF, real game time, decent contract and he would remain as one of our best deals. I really rate this kid, maybe just below Welbeck, but he has the body to play like Falcao.

This would be the worst purchase by chelsea ever! Ba might be a proven goal scorer for the magpies, but that doesn't always translate over for his next team. Sturridge needs to stay, we need serious competition for Torres, if we want strength then recall Lukaku.

Sending Lukaku out on loan was RDM's worst choice yet as manager. He has played well in preseason and if he was still here then rotation upfront wouldn't be an issue.

Sturridge is injured, but upon his return I hope he gets his chance upfront. With the current Hazard-Oscar-Mata combi behind him, his killer intinct would blossom
